Nick Shutter Absolutely gorgeous—blending its medieval folk, new age, and choral elements with grace, this easily stands as one of the best dungeon synth albums of all time. DIM has always done fine work, but Steeped Sky, Stained Light is something really, really special.

Archmage Orladin With just one listen this album has become one of my all time favorites. It's difficult to get enough of this, and it would be nice to hear more in this vein from DIM.

Wayward Wizard Compendium III was my favorite, but slowly over time, this usurped it. It's like imagining an old warm memory, wrapped in gold, but slightly blurred. Unable to recall if its nostalgia, or the remnants of a dream from long ago. Favorite track: Quest for the Illuminated Marsh.

Grackle DIM continues to amaze, pulling together sounds that intrigue the ear and weaving together masterpiece after masterpiece. I love the use of vocals in this album, they create a beautiful and haunting ambience. Favorite track: Of Molten Stars.

A sense of echoing memory return blasts from the glow of the sun like great furnace doors. Thou dost age quickly in spite of a far horizon. Fight not alone in Gideon's company. Let their chambers and porches be filled with trials of seafaring and faith. Dimly lit are the corridors without. The river is stilled at the flood, reflecting rays of light, hewn like dull brass in its deep pools. Suddenly there burst out from the vague mystery a clamoring of voices. Tearing to earth, racing headlong, the trace of it is not forgotten.

Steeped Sky, Stained Light was conceptualized immaterially, in dreams, over a span of ten years. As Lynch would say, the "...seed requires electricity", and only so much control can be had over that very process. As it turns out, the year 2021 was the origin of a beginning spark, bringing those vague dream images into a real state. In a stillness, I sought to find something which before eluded me, and in doing so, uncovered a gleaming light, washing away the decaying hands of shadow. For those in need of a lantern amid the beckoning winds of Time, may one be found here, through the unending mystery of the road ahead.
